Who are they for? This Module is designed to support teachers who wish to use storytelling with young learners in the early stages of language learning and who may not themselves be trained linguists. The story itself is quite short and the concepts straightforward. The wealth of supporting materials mean that the resource can be used with a wide range of learners. With over 20 items to chose from, which you use and how you use them will depend on the needs and abilities of the pupils you teach. The main focus is probably KS 2 (Primary), but the visual materials have been used with younger age groups. Senior pupils have used the materials to practise storytelling before working with younger children. Contents The storyline centres on the weather on each of the days leading up to December 25th, and Santa's need for snow. Each module contains: Teacher's Notes Power Point presentation Resource Bank containing materials to print out and use with pupils, including: Picture Bank containing: Sound Bank containing MP3 files:

Some of the comments we've received: Children are really enjoying the work were doing with the story. Its covering the bases of reading, listening and talking extremely well. I showed the disc to one of my colleagues and she loved it! I think the reading/storytelling aspect of this resource will be very valuable and I look forward to using it with the children. I love your new product! Everything about it appeals to me - the art work, the language register, the challenge, the support (for teachers as well as pupils!). The children loved it. I got a lot out of using this material and will certainly use it again. My French and German language assistantsalso used it to good effect. | |||||||||
